Ever wondered what all the fuss was about over all these new types of board games but never had the chance to have a go? We’ve got a wide variety of family friendly games and our game experts are ready to find a game suitable for you. Come and find out why board games are becoming so popular!
We will be running the following activities each day:
Always wanted a go at board gaming but felt nervous about trying? Not sure what kind of game you might like? Come along and give some new games a go. We will everything from co-operative games (Pandemic,Thunderbirds,Forbidden Island), introduce you to some classic euro/worker placement games (Ticket to Ride,Carcassonne,Settlers of Catan), card games (Dominion, Hero Realms) and many more! Age 11+
For our younger gamers we’ll have a wide selection of games suitable for children and our games experts will be ready to teach kids to play (don’t worry parents, you can join in too). Age 7-10.
Want to learn some seriously in depth strategy games? Come and pit your wits against fellow conquerors. This activity is for people ready to embrace more complex, detailed games. Expect lots of rules, interactive play (beating the other players) and some serious concentration required! Age 14+
Dungeons & Dragons is the original tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG), but did you know there are dozens of role-playing games out there? Each day we’ll be running different Tabletop Role-play games, using pre-made characters and with carefully crafted scenarios to get you right into the action. Ages 11+
All of our activities are drop-in sessions and are first come first served, so we recommend you arrive 10 minutes early if you’re keen to participate in a specific activity. If you would like more information about a specific activity please firstname.lastname@example.org we will do our best to accommodate you.
We expect some of our activities to be very busy, however we will always have extra volunteers on hand and a big stack of games, and if there are people who want to play we will always do our best to find a suitable game for them!
While we intend to provide opportunities to play for as many people as we can, for most of our games there is a realistic age limit at which children will be able to focus and engage with rules. For FBGC we’ve set the suggested limit at ages 7+. While there will of course be exceptions we feel that children younger than this will struggle to concentrate and learn the majority of games we have on offer, and we advise parents and carers to think carefully if the activities we have on offer are right for them.
